What happens when you send your emails?

Step one: The process of sending an email starts on your device. Once you send your email, it starts a journey to the receving device.

Step two: Next the message is sent to the TCP where it is broken down into packets.

Step three: Then the packets are given an IP address to send them to the correct device

Step four: After getting an IP address the packets are sent to a router. The router sends the packets on the quickest route. Packets don't have to follow the same path, and can take different routes.

Step five: If the deivce is local to the router it is sent to IP. If it is not local it is sent to a local router.

Step six: The Ip sends the packets to the device and checks the IP address

Step seven: Then the packets are sent to the TCP of the receving device which reassimble the packets into the message. It does not matter what order the packets arrive in.

Step eight: Finally the message arrives to the recipent's device within seconds of it being sent.
